Project Description:

Urban Throne is part of a series of objects conceived of by ML/W exploring the relationship of architecture, design, and the homeless condition. Made of upcycled ready-made items, the result is a new functional piece.

Juxtaposed with the iconic Barcelona Chair designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe for his German Pavilion at the Barcelona Exposition of 1929. The Barcelona Chair was designed for the Spanish king to sit while presiding over the inaugural ceremony as a "Modern Throne".
